Herbert Hoover High School Class of 1963 - Latest News

Finally received the 50th reunion dvd from Raines Video. I'm ashamed to admit that they are a Portland company. They have terrible reviews from customers and the Better Business Bureau. But, I did enjoy the dvd. good to see old classmates, even though I couldn't be there.

How cove everyone got older except for Margot Kasch? Also nobody got as fat as me? Oh, well, looks like everyone had a great time.

Bad news first....

The few neighbors against the Hoover Lights on the stadium lost the first round. Hoover got their lights!

Now the bad guys took the subject to court again and the judge says no lights until he makes a decision, but not until November. This means the kids will not have any more night games, including Homecoming in October. Hoover has done every possible thing to have the noise and lights deflected from the complainers, there is NO parking on the street on the nights of the games (there is ample parking out in back of Hoover) but these neighbors can't seem to be pacified.

The good news.

The front of Hoover is going to be restored in some ways to the original "look of old." They are going to build 2 stories on top of the existing building in front (2 more floors of classrooms so it will be three stories high as it was originally ) a new auditorium AND A TOWER!!!   No details as to when this will happen, but it has been approved.....This all came from the lips of the principal.

So, have a nice day and hopefully that judge will care about the kids at Hoover.

NOTE: One of the biggest complainers has two high school age kids, but they go to a private school.
